The word Anima, Animalis in Latin (origin of our word Animal) literally means "Breath" or "Having Breath", signifies something that "has a Soul".  Surprised?  Probably not...

It is mythological fact, that humans have a strong connection to animals.  May it be a totem Animal, an Animal familiar, a messenger Animal, an Animal partner, a shamanistic spirit Animal, or an unlabeled, unconditional connection to an Animal.

When I paint an animal portrait, I invoke the Soul part of the Animal, and paint that crystallized part into the painting as well as depicting a strong likeness, with the specific personality.

Practicalities of ordering an animal portrait painting: my favorite size is 18" x18" (approx 45 x45cm), or bigger,  I usually paint on wood panels, with Acrylic paint.  

One animal portrait like this generally costs $550.00, (approx 470 Euros)  + shipping.

I will need several photos, or can come take them myself - the best ones for the painting are head and shoulder shots.
